Committee to Elect Kayamone Sutton

Who am I? :

I am Kayamone Sutton. I am but an ordinary American citizen who wishes to make a difference in my community and the world around me. I am an ordinary Flint resident, and like all of those who live in this city, I want to see a change in our city’s politics, policies, and the way the city is being governed. Who am I? I am someone who wishes to make a difference for the betterment of all.

As a patriotic citizen, I dedicate my life to the furtherance of the American legacy. I represent the voice of the community, and will act in behalf of all Flint residents. I represent a new era of politicians, the next generation of leaders, and I shall make it my duty to bring about a positive change in Flint, not because the task at hand is easy, but because it is challenging and richly worthwhile to the thousands of Flint residents who wish to see the same type of positive progress and change.

My Agenda:

My goal is to change Flint in a manner that all can benefit. Flint was once a great city, but due to the decline in the city's automotive industry, it is on a dangerous decline which we must bounce back from. To this day, Flint holds the record for having the fourth highest crime rate out of every city in the United States. The city has done only the minimal to combat crime and create a better community for our children and senior citizens to live in. There has been a lot of talk about changing Flint, making Flint beautiful, making Flint safe for our children, turning Flint into a city where people do not have to worry about not being able to find a job. With the country in a recession, Michigan is listed as the 50th state in job growth. We must put every effort and every resource into shifting Flint’s economy from one dependent upon the declining and dwindling automotive industry into another where goods and services are in abundance.  We must find new ways of stimulating small business growth while beautifying our communities and fighting crime to the best of our ability using innovative and more effective crime fighting technques. Flint can no longer afford to elect government officials who wish talk a lot of talk but cannot deliver when it is time to take action. With your help we can make this possible and change the course that this once and still great city is on.
