Career: Joined the United States Navy in the summer of 2005 (June 10th, 2005) to become an Operations Specialist (OS). Transferred to Virginia Beach, VA at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana-Damneck Annex to complete his OS "A" School, a 14 week school where he learns the basics of his rate. Following his successful completion of "A" school, he transfered to Norfolk, VA to be stationed on the USS San Jacinto (CG-56). Following a successful tour, Sutton left the San Jacinto and the US Navy on 29 June 2009 and returned to Flint.

Career Aspirations: Following his enlistment within the United States Navy, Kayamone has pushed for his degree in International Relations and Public Administration. He hopes to make a difference in America, starting with his hometown, Flint.

Interests: Spending time with his kids, bike riding, reading political non-fiction books and novels, writing political OpEd pieces and position papers, and traveling overseas.

Community Activity

Current Personal Achievements

  • Flint Urban Ecovillage (2010-Present)- Named one of the five directors of the Flint Urban Ecovillage. The Flint Urban Ecovillage will be an intentional community within Flint, with the goal of becoming more socially, economically and ecologically sustainable.
  • Flint Energy Council (2010-Present)- Active member of the Flint Energy Council. Serves on the Young Entreprenuer and Small Business Taskforce. The Energy Council was formed to "Build a green economy strong enough to create a positive, dynamic economic impact for the people and businesses of Genesee County."
  • GRYP (May 2010-January 2011)- Was an active member of GRYP (Genesee Regional Young Professionals), a group of youth professionals gathered together for the purpose of changing Flint for the better through the use of volunteer work and political activism within the community. PLUTO also promotes financial literacy, entreprenuership, and uniting the local student demographic.
  • ACHR (2007-2008)- The Allied Coalition for Human Rights was founded by Kayamone to help fight against the violations of human rights around the globe. The ACHR was created as a way to help others and himself take a stance and open the worlds eyes to the attrocities that are being committed everyday in nations where the rights and freedoms of the people are grossly curbed by rogue regimes, rebel factions and ruling parties, and tyrannical leaders.
  • UASO (2006-Present)- A work in progress, the United Aeronautics and Spaceflight Organization is the child of the VUSSP. Designed to be more realistic than any other virtual space agency ever created, the UASO is a major investment for the Board of Directors who have been appointed to run the organization.
  • USS San Jacinto (2006-2009)- Was stationed onboard the USS San Jacinto (CG-56) on September 11, 2006. Served as an Operations Specialist and completed a seven month deployment overseas from November 2007 to June 2008. Was awarded with six naval service ribbons for his performance and valor while serving onboard. Was discharged from the US Navy on June 29, 2009.
  • US Navy Boot Camp (2006)- Graudated from United States Navy Boot Camp on June 2nd, 2006.
  • VUSSP (2001-2006)- Considered by Kayamone to be his greatest achievement to date. The VUSSP (Virtual United States Space Program) simulated spaceflight operations, mimicing NASA by using Orbiter Space Flight Simulator to carry out realistic spaceflight operations. At the organization's peak, it had a little over 150 members. Kayamone was the original founder and Administrator right up until he closed the organization in July 2006.
